Position Summary & Responsibilities:
The Librarian is Head of the Department and is responsible for library services at Hutchinson Correctional Facility Central Unit. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing a library program designed to provide acquisition, circulation, reference and readers’ services to one maximum-security library. The HCF library consists of a collection of approximately ten thousand volumes suitable for a “public library” and legal reference collections. The Librarian monitors compliance with established procedures at all units.
Minimum Qualifications : Master’s degree in library science

Selection Process: Applicants selected for interviews will be evaluated by an interview panel using performance/behavior-based interview questions. The interview panel will make recommendations to Warden for final approval. A second interview may be conducted. Applicants will be subject to background check and criminal history investigation; must pass a drug screen and a TB test unless promoting, transferring, or demoting from another safety sensitive position within the same agency; and possess a valid Driver’s License.
